Affair Anger and Panic Attacks


After finding out that your spouse cheated on you, are you feeling very angry? Did you know that it is a normal feeling when the person you love has betrayed you but how are you dealing with the anger?
Are you acting up on your angry feelings because of the affair? Have you found a way to release these feelings?
When someone has a lot of frustration like dealing with an affair, it's not unusual for a person to have panic attacks. This frustration develops in anger and anger is related to stress which your body can react in different ways. Especially when dealing with a spousal affair.
How can you know if you are having an anger attack or a panic attack?
Symptoms of Anger Attacks: anger attacks are characterized of at least 4 of the following
  • Heart pounding, racing
  • Chest pains
  • Sweating
  • Shaking or trembling
  • Shortness of breath
  • Dizziness or light headed
  • Tingling or itching skin
  • Fear of losing control
  • Intense fear or anxiety
  • Hot or cold flashes
  • Feeling like attacking others
  • Actually attacking others
  • Throwing or destroying objects
Symptoms of Panic Attacks: a panic attack is characterized by four or more of the following
  • Palpitations, pounding heart, or accelerated heart rate
  • Sweating
  • Trembling or shaking
  • Sensations of shortness of breath or smothering
  • Feeling of choking
  • Chest pain or discomfort
  • Nausea or abdominal distress
  • Feeling dizzy, unsteady, lightheaded, or faint
  • Feelings of unreality or being detached from oneself
  • Fear of losing control or going crazy
  • Fear of dying
  • Numbness or tingling sensations
  • Chills or hot flashes
There are many similarities between both symptoms. Researchers point out that both produce many of the same sudden and intense physical and emotional sensations.
The differences of anger and panic attacks are the following:
  • Anger attacks typically occur in situations in which a person feels emotionally trapped
  • Panic attacks typically occur in situations in which a person feels anxiety and fear
Anger attacks include the followings:
  • Irritable feelings in the past 6 months
  • Angry overreaction to small irritations
  • 1 or more anger attacks experienced in the past month
  • Inappropriate anger directed towards others
If you experiencing anger or panic attacks, talk to your doctor. In addition, find an activity that will make you relax; like meditation, taking a walk, soft music; anything that will make your heart beat slow down.
When you feel an attack coming up, have you tried to release the tension in your body by listening to meditation music or soft music to release the stress?
Meditation music works wonders for many people. If you don't have any CDs at home, search the internet as it offers plenty of relaxation music like the sound of waterfalls, ocean waves, sounds of rain, wind blowing through trees, birds,etc.
Find a music that you like and a video that lasts for about 30 minutes. Lay down somewhere you feel comfortable, put on the music, take deep breaths(breath in by the nose and out through your mouth) and do not think about the affair; try to clear your mind.
You might end up taking a nap as the music relaxes every muscle of your body. When you wake up you will feel more relaxed and in control.
