A psychological disorder such as panic attack has its psychological therapies and medical treatment in order to subside or reduce syndromes of the disease. Here psychotherapies involve developing an understanding on the nature of the disorder, and how patients perceive this. Panic disorder terribly imbalances cognitive behaviour of the patient with perception of "going insane" or "having heart attack". In this therapy, the patient is inculcated viewing panic attacks positively.
One of the medical treatments involves using paper bag re-breathing technique during onset of acute panic disorder. Patient suffering from the malady is made breathing into paper bag to subside syndromes of panic disorder.
In addition, the patient should avoid consuming caffeine, alcohol and other illicit drugs as these substances contain stimulants related to panic malady. Aerobic or yoga exercise is the best way to minimise syndrome of panic malady. Certain atmospheric elements trigger panic syndrome to a larger extent. Hence, the patient should refrain from being exposed to such atmosphere.
More often than not people suffering from panic attack develop paranoia towards certain things. The paranoid patient becomes hysteric with visible observation of such things. Here, the patient is kept aloof of such things. Further, when the panic attacks, the patient should be calmed down immediately. On the syndrome being worsening, the patient should seek immediate medical attention. It is better not to leave the patient alone, as such medical condition can trigger anytime and renders the patient into frightening state of mind.
